University Revival Hangover....
Hope you have been reading my blogs and I hope that you have been inspired and amazed at what God is doing in our city in 2012!!!!!
This weekend I was so happy. At University we hosted a student event called 'One heart Revival'. The heart of the event was to engage with the other Christian societies on our campus and literally praise and worship God. Most importantly, we were believing to reach out to those who didn't know Him.
Overall, Friday’s event went really well and many students left the event feeling encouraged and inspired. It was nice to see our other brothers and sisters in Christ from different Christian Societies join us regardless of 'religious denomination' or colour. We were joined under one name only and that's the name of JESUS.
I said ‘we’. Well, in order to do the things Gods called you to do you can’t do it alone. That's something i've had to learn over the years whilst i've been at university. If i want to really reach students on my campus for Jesus then it would be easier to 'co-labour' with other anointed believers beside me.
Personally, i'd say i have been honoured to serve alongside some of the greatest awesome Godly Christian leaders over these past couple of months/years. They run different Christian groups on campus, but one thing we have in common is that we LOVE Jesus like we really LOVE HIM and we dream big as you have probably worked out! If there are 15'000 students on campus, why can't we tell all about Jesus? What's stopping us?
Friday night was a night that I won’t ever forget but I know that we also need to look forward and do even greater things for His Glory!
On a different note, here’s me planning last weeks message which i shared with my amazing group.
Last week I briefly spoke from the book of Esther.
Esther 4:14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
My key points were as follows:
- Esther was fearless. Standing up for what you believe in or what is right can cost you (especially in this day and age). She didn’t let that hold her back though.
-Esther went through a time of preparation before taking her position as Queen. God prepares us for where He wants us to be.
-Having a Godly position also comes with a responsibility. It’s not all glamorous and don’t let titles get to your head!
-You were born for such a time as this. God had placed Esther as Queen for a reason and there was an opportunity for her to arise. Question is, are you going to rise?
